Georgie Skipper

Senior Advisor, Indo-Pacific Partnership for Prosperity

Georgie is the Founder & CEO of Lucetia Group, which exists to support economic prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region by increasing access to globally connected markets, strategic capital and innovation. Georgie is Senior Advisor to the Indo-Pacific Partnership for Prosperity 

 

As a Fulbright Scholar,  Georgie was at MIT Sloan over 2023/2024 conducting research as a Visiting Scholar on how to accelerate private investment from the United States and Australia into South East Asia. There Georgie built frameworks to understand investment flows focussed on systems thinking, innovation ecosystems and economic behavior.  

 

Georgie is a Research Affiliate at MIT Sloan. Together with Professor Dame Fiona Murray, Georgie is the Co-Founder of the MIT Murray Lab for Innovation, Deeptech and Geopolitics. 

 

Georgie served as Senior Advisor and Principal Advisor on the United States, to the Foreign Minister of Australia, the Honourable Julie Bishop over the Obama and Trump Administrations. During this time, Georgie supported the development of Australia’s first Indo-Pacific White Paper in 14 years and the economic diplomacy strategy. 

 

Most recently Georgie was in the executive leadership team of energy developer Sun Cable, with cornerstone investor Mike Cannon Brookes, building a USD 22 billion renewable energy infrastructure project between Australia, Singapore and Indonesia, and an affiliated cable manufacturing facility in the Indo-Pacific.

 

Georgie is a Founding Member of the Leadership team of the Green Grids Initiative, the UK government initiative to support accelerated development of green grids in developing economies. 

 

Deeply interested in supporting leading Australians, maintaining a network and impact overseas, Georgie is Ambassador to Advance. She holds a first-class honors degree in international relations from the University of Sydney and studied at Malmö University in Sweden.
